Sexual Health in Plymouth (SHiP) services are free of charge and every venue is staffed by our friendly team of specialist doctors, nurses, health advisers, support workers and receptionists.
How our services are affected by Coronavirus (Covid-19)
We are a friendly, non-judgemental specialist NHS healthcare team.
Walk-in services are not operating and have been replaced by daily telephone triage. Staff remain on site for reduced services.
If you have an essential or urgent sexual health, HIV, pregnancy or contraception need, please phone our main number 01752 431124 and we will offer you telephone assessment. (We are closed Tuesday afternoons after 12.30pm).
Tavistock and Kingsbridge clinics are currently closed.
This situation is creating an increased demand on the phone system, so please do keep trying. We appreciate your patience.
Please go to our homepage for more information.
You are welcome to visit us, whatever your age, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, wherever you live. You don’t need a GP referral to visit us.
Our services are confidential and your privacy will be respected at all times.
We’re happy to see people of any age, including those who are below the legal age of consent and thinking about having sex, at SHiP.
Anything you tell us in clinic will be kept confidential. This means that we will not share the information you give us unless we feel there is a reason to be concerned about your safety and well-being, or the safety and well-being of someone else, or if the law requires us to share the information.
If we do need to share information with other professionals, we will try to inform you before doing so.
Services we provide
You should see your GP for your routine cervical smear. We have very limited capacity to do this.
